We are currently seeking a talented and motivated freelance photographer to capture breaking news and events for our just launched AuroraToday news site.
We are born digital, but at the heart of what we do is community storytelling and we are looking for an experienced photographer who can help us cover a number of diverse subject areas.
We’re looking for an individual who:
Is driven to find the people behind the stories that matter in their communities
Knows how to capture passions, struggles and triumphs and communicate them in a compelling way
Is experienced with taking photos for breaking news and current events
Can commit to work evenings and weekends for us
The ideal candidate should have:
A degree or diploma in journalism, photography or equivalent experience
Strong photography skills with demonstrated ability and creativity
Experience with editing images
Experience with audio and video recording techniques and equipment
Familiarity with the Aurora, Ontario community
A valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle
Their own photography equipment
