Autism Consultant

for the Sudbury office

Full time, 12 months contract position, 35 hours/week
Salary range: $27.47 to $41.29 per hour

The Autism Consultant will work with families and service providers, specifically Child Welfare, to build capacity for supporting children and youth with a diagnosis of autism. The Autism Consultant will engage with teams and participate in meetings to increase knowledge and understanding of autism, applied behavioural analysis, data collection, and the implementation of treatment recommendations in various settings. They will also be responsible for bridging the communication gap between the public and private social services sectors to ensure positive and comprehensive planning for children and youth with autism.

The Autism Consultant will have extensive knowledge of autism and applied behavioural analysis. They will have knowledge of both theory and the application of systemic interventions and child development. The successful candidate will be committed to strength-based principles of child, youth, and family centeredness, demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, have experience in data collection and analysis, have the ability to work independently and contribute to a team, and show strong organizational and time management skills.

They will possess a Bachelor’s degree in one of the social sciences or helping professions, have a minimum of three years’ work experience with children and youth with autism, and have strong presentation and interpersonal skills. As travel throughout the assigned area is expected, candidates must have a valid driver's license, access to a vehicle and provide a Motor Vehicle Abstract. Bilingualism is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to primarily work from home.
