VIDEO: 6 dump trucks set on fire at Vaughan industrial yard

The suspect is shown on surveillance video pouring a flammable liquid around the vehicles before lighting them on fire

Six dump trucks were damaged by fires police believe were intentionally set in a Vaughan industrial yard Monday night.

When officers arrived at the industrial yard at Highway 27 and Highway 407 July 1 at about 11:50 p.m., the trucks were engulfed in flames, a York Regional Police news release said.

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services attended and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.

Surveillance video shows one suspect in the yard approaching the vehicles, pouring a flammable liquid around them, and igniting the fires.

Police are appealing to anyone with information or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward. Investigators would also like to speak to with anyone with video surveillance or dashcam footage in the area around the time of the incident.
